DIY Lip Balm

8 months ago - 149 views
DIY Lip Balm
Supplies Needed:

O1. Vaseline [or a petroleum free alternative]
O2. Kool-Aid or Crystal Light Drink Mix
O3. Microwave Safe Bowl
O4. A Spatula or Spoon
O5. Glass Lip Gloss Containers (sold at Michael's)

How To Make:

O1. First, choose what color you want for your lip balm. It stains your lips, so go with a pink or a red color.

O2. Put about a cup of Vasaline in the microwave safe bowl and heat on high for about 1 minute. Stir and repeat over and over again until liquified. If you have a double boiler, you could use that too.

O3. Take the bowl out of the microwave and let cool for a few seconds. Stir in the Kool-Aid or Crystal Light a little at a time and make sure it starts to dissolve. Keep on stiring! The more you add, the darker it gets. You can use mutliple packets if you want. It's up to you!

O4. If your Vasaline is cooling or becoming solid again, put it in the microwave for another 30 seconds, stir again and poor the mixture in your container.

These are perfect for a homemade gift or party favors. Just beware that your lipbalm isn't too grainy!

My Favorite Bath & Body Works Scents

8 months ago - 202 views
My Favorite Bath & Body Works Scents
O1. Charmed Life - This is my all time favorite scent from Bath and Body Works. It's pear and vanilla musk, but unfortunately it was limited edition. At least you can still buy it on Ebay!

O2. Warm Vanilla Sugar - This has always been a relaxing scent to me. Vanilla is my favorite and it kind of reminds me of Christmas cookies.

O3. Twisted Peppermint - This is a seasonal scent, but whenever it appears on shelves, I love getting the hand soap for my bathroom. It is a mix of peppermint and vanilla.

O4. Japanese Cherry Blossom - I like this one because it's so different compared to most of the scents I typically buy. It's stronger, so I don't use it often, but when I do, it's an unique scent to me.

O5. Exotic Coconut - I love ANYTHING with coconut and I love the Wallflower of this. I enjoy my entire room smelling like coconut

What are your favorite Bath and Body Works scents?

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, (spooned and leveled)
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 ripe bananas), plus 1 whole banana, for garnish (optional)
2 large eggs

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tablespoon honey
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Chocolate Chip Cookies

8 months ago - 262 views
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together and set aside.
3. Using a stand mixer or a food processor, cream the butter and sugar together until smooth.
4. Add the corn syrup, egg and vanilla and continue beating until well combined. Scrape down the bowl and gradually add the flour mixture, beating just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
5. Using a spoon, scoop out a ball of the dough, roll it for a moment in your hands and then drop it onto a lightly greased cookie tray. Slightly flatten the balls but leave lots of room in between to allow the cookies room to expand.
6. For a soft, chewy cookie, bake for exactly 12 minutes. For a cookie with a bit of crispy crunch, bake for exactly 15 minutes.
7. Cool for 2 minutes on the cookie sheet and then remove and cool further.
